I have a 22 month old. He is too old for the noise making, button pushing toys. He likes sorting, and toys that are challenging. Do any of you have suggestions of GREAT toys that are entetaining for my little guy????

We have the usual toys: swings, bumbo chair, vibrating chair, playmats, tummy time toys… What other toys are there that babies really like? I am thinking ahead for a few things to ask for as christmas presents for my little boy.

look for ‘science’ discovery type toys, like an ant farm, or simple science experiements he can do like making a ‘volcano’ with simple indredients.
Six year old boys often like bugs, maybe you could get him a book on bugs and a magnifying glass?
They also like dinosaurs. Any books with lots of pictures and maybe plastic dinosaurs to play with. Or a dinosaur bone skeleton puzzle.

My daughter turns 1 in 2 months (OMG thats scary when i write it down) and she has TONS of toy but i want to get her something to help develop her mind, whether it be creativly or otherwise what do you recommend?

wal-mart.…babies R Us.….ANYTHING can be educational if you make it. i have a 1 year old too, so i know what i’m talking about.
just have fun with her. get her a set of wooden blocks.…my son has some and they are his favorite things. i feed him A LOT of hormel cups (they make them in Mac n cheese and chicken noodle rings and others) anyways, they come with a little plastic lid. when i get done cooking it, i give the lid to him. he probably has 20 or 30. he LOVES those things. they are FREE, basically. he stacks them and i count them with him. like i said, anything can be used as a learning toy…and it doesn’t have to be expensive.

Try the website www.discoverytoys.com. They have toys ranging from newborn through teens. Every toy is educational as well as fun. The prices range from cheap to expensive. I have 3 children and have purchased all of their educational toys from them. They will ship them directly to your home. Hope this helps.

My DT: Systems and control project is to create an educational toy that has a use of mechanisms– such as leadscrew or bevel gears etc.
