What Are Some Good Educational Toys For A 2 1/2 Year Old Going On 3?

what toys are good for a 2 1/2 year old girl (will be 3 in octo­ber)? I want to get her some­thing that is edu­ca­tional but some­thing that is in her age level. thanks

    Any­thing in the v-tech or leapfrog line that is for that age group.

    tod­dler lap­tops, leapfrog alphebet-cal (cater­piller for alpha­bet learn­ing), leapfrog telephone/book (teaches alpha­bets and words), and the V-Tech is absolutely the best for 18 months and up!! my daugh­ter has one and it helped reit­er­ate ever­thing we were teach­ing her (let­ters, num­bers, col­ors, shapes, etc) and some new stuff like baby sign lan­guage, songs, oppo­sites, feel­ings, and match­ing. i love it. i’d rec­om­mend it to every­one!
    my daugh­ter is three and at two she didn’t know the alpha­bet song, but she could name every let­ter of the alpha­bet when you showed them to her, she could name every num­ber she saw, and almost all her shapes… now she knows all that plus she COUNTS, tries to read words, and plays games on the com­puter (on noggin.com).
    ofcourse i’m her mother, so i think she’s a genius!…

    there are some movies you can buy. even doing a project with her for 30 min­utes a day. like learn­ing the alpha­bet and learn­ing col­ors and count­ing. it’s never to early to teach that stuff. maybe get­ting index cards and right­ing a let­ter on them and teach­ing them to her or as shes col­or­ing ask her what color shes using. sim­ple things like that which are low cost­ing and they fit into every­day life.
