What Are The Best Educational And/or Fun Toys For A 6–7 Month Old?

We have the usual toys: swings, bumbo chair, vibrating chair, playmats, tummy time toys… What other toys are there that babies really like? I am thinking ahead for a few things to ask for as christmas presents for my little boy.

Books! Babies love to hear your voice, i dont care how old they are, its never too young to introduce them to books. Get the ones that have the textures and fur that you can put their fingers on, and shapes and colors. You might think your baby is too young, but he isnt. Thats the best learning tool as far as im concerned, a bouncy seat or swing is fun, but it doesnt teach anything, although they can observe their surroundings, parent/child interaction is the best for stimulating their minds.

don’t know the name of it, but my son has this V-tech steering wheel thing that he loves. He also likes the train that comes with the Preskool peekablocks, and there is a toy also from preskool with light up spinning gears that keeps him very entertained. Sorry I dont remember the names of them!

I’ve worked at a daycare for two years and all the children really seem to enjoy the play mats and toys that they have to do something [press button, move something, kick something] to make sounds and light.

Kids that age love stacking cups and things they can bang to make noise.
